To and from School
We have an agreement with all parents that children should not be driven to school down Church Street. This is to avoid congestion, encourage children to walk and to make Church Street a safer road for pedestrians. Parents may park their cars a little way from the school in the pub car park or on the High Street which is adjacent to Church Street. Parents who have a good reason for driving up to the school are asked to arrive before the busy periods of 8.45 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. to avoid any children walking to school. Children are encouraged to use the school bus if possible.
If for any reason, children arrive at school late, or leave early, they (or you) need to report to the school office to be signed in or out.
The County Council provides free transport for pupils living over three miles away from school. A coach brings children from Forest Hill, Stanton St John and Horton cum Studley. Elsfield children are brought to school by mini-bus. The County may also arrange transport for qualifying children not living on the bus route.
If you have a query about school transport entitlement make sure you’ve read the policy in full.
Please note that under these rules new admissions living in Forest Hill may not eligible for transport. Please check with the Admissions Team.
